01. About Me

S. Borjas - The Pitch by Deel, NYC

I'm a markets-and-engineering builder working at the frontier of institutional digital assets — the tokenization and on-chain settlement of real financial assets.

Most recently I built CrossDesk, a full-stack settlement desk on the Canton Network: Daml smart contracts, a Java / Spring Boot service over the Ledger API, and a React front end — settling tokenized assets with atomic delivery-versus-payment (DvP) and per-party privacy, the same institutional pattern behind platforms like JPMorgan's Kinexys. Before that I built Dina Network, a Layer-1 blockchain built from scratch in Rust (BFT consensus, WASM VM).

My background is markets first: I traded $250M+ as an equities & derivatives trader — opening/closing auctions, index rebalancing, merger-arb, and order-flow microstructure on Bookmap — building tooling in Java. I'm not a crypto person who found markets; I'm a markets engineer who went deep on the settlement rails.

As a solo founder I ship fast, end to end — I built Lucilla, a stablecoin rewards platform paying real USDC for verified activity on Base and Circle's Arc (5 Solidity contracts, 600+ cloud functions, cross-chain CCTP, a voice AI wallet agent), and Banco El Tesoro, a LATAM stablecoin neobank.
